Shelley D. Hayes, J.D., is a former trial lawyer who began her career at the United States Department of Justice in the Attorney General’s Honors Program. A graduate of Bryn Mawr College and The George Washington University Law School, she currently is the chair of the American Bar Association’s AIDS Coordinating Committee, a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for HIV Law and Policy and a member of the Editorial Board of the HIV/AIDS Policy and Law Review.
Allen A. Herman, M.D., Ph.D., is a world-class public health expert with more than 20 years domestic and international experience conducting research and teaching about HIV infection at home and abroad. He has served as the principal advisor to the chairman (the Hon. Ronald V. Dellums) of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. A medical graduate of the University of Natal and a doctoral graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Columbia University.
Winifred Y. Carson-Smith, J.D., is a nationally recognized health policy expert. With a client roster of healthcare providers and nursing associations, she is a graduate of Duke University and The George Washington University Law School.
